As a sales and marketing professional, with experience in several industries, Rick provides a dynamic, visionary plan for growth and client service. We caught up with Rick in a quieter moment to find out more about his role at Frontline…
Hey Rick! Tell us a bit more about your job – what are your main responsibilities?
Here at Frontline, I am the VP of Sales & Marketing. I oversee the sales and marketing activities of the company, manage our Canadian distribution accounts, and provide overall general management to the team.
What was your professional background prior to this?
I have had experience in various industries but mostly sales and marketing related.
What’s your favourite thing about the print & display sector?
The print and display sector is dynamic and there are so many applications for our products.
What’s the most challenging thing facing you and your clients in the current business climate?
The pandemic-induced supply chain challenges have been, and continue to be, a significant consideration. Material shortages, extended lead times, and market volatility has meant that planning ahead is more crucial now than ever before.
What would you say are the key attributes required to perform well in your role?
From a client-facing perspective, responsiveness is critical. The industry moves fast, and our clients rely on us to provide timely information.
If you didn’t work at Frontline, what would your dream job be?
As a child, I always thought that being a firefighter was what I wanted to be! Having had varied experience in the business world, I think a business trainer/advisor would be interesting and allow for insight into different aspects of the corporate world.
Do you have any hobbies or interests away from work? Or a favourite way to unwind?
I enjoy reading and spending time with the family.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that colleagues might not know?
I used to play the trumpet and once performed in an orchestra.
